For anyone who has used a copier with a toner cartridge, the term “shake to print” is well known. If the copier seems to be running out of ink, it is common practice to take out the toner cartridge, give it a shake, then reinsert it into the copier machine. This usually does the trick to get a few more prints out of it. Today, however, “shake to print” takes on a whole new meaning.

There is a new patent filing from Apple for their iOS devices that will allow the user to shake their device to enable print mode. Then items such as documents or pictures can be printed wirelessly on a nearby printer. This app will make it much easier and more convenient than ever for iOS users to print the things they need.
